The pile
Ten people. Added up. Still paper.
The pile
People say “the 1%”. One per cent of one per cent of the world’s adults is still hundreds of thousands of people. These names are not that. They are a much smaller room.

Working pile: $2872.81B
Against published piles
Apple market cap
$4849.00B · 11 September 2026 close. Combined working ÷ that figure ≈ 1.7× smaller. Public shares × close. One company. Still larger than the ten people.
McDonald's market cap
$178.00B · 11 September 2026 close. Combined working ÷ that figure ≈ 16.1×. The pile can buy the restaurants. It cannot buy Apple.
WFP 2026 operational ask
$13.00B · WFP published 2026 requirements. Combined working ÷ that figure ≈ 221.0×. One agency. One year. Not hunger solved. A rounding error on the pile.
What the combined clock is not
WFP 2026 operational requirements: about $13B. The top-ten working pile is roughly two hundred of those annual asks. That is not hunger solved. It is one UN agency’s published requirement laid next to paper wealth.
Cancer and AIDS “cure” figures are not a single cheque. We do not pretend they are. Use published annual research or treatment budgets, dated, or do not post.
McDonald’s is a company. Apple is a company. GDP is a country’s output. Paper fortunes are not transferable piles of cash. The comparison is a scale shock, not a plan.
